You leave making now the portraits on wall,
Be friendly with conscience and Egoís call.
Since you got growth in my nationís lawn,
Fill your songís flame in their brain and brawn.

1.         The literal translation of line 2 would be:-
Seek not friendship save with Egoís (call). (Save with thy ego own).
In the above twin couplets Iqbal is addressing the ĎArab poets and then to the ĎArab youth not to hang portraits of film stars and other beauties on their walls.
