Iqbal Academy Hosts All-Pakistan Competitions on Iqbal’s Poetry
“Allama Iqbal’s poetry is a guiding light for the youth,” says Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi

Lahore, August 20, 2025: Iqbal Academy Pakistan organized All-Pakistan competitions on August 19, 2025, under the theme “Yeh Ghazi Yeh Tere Purasrar Banday.”  The event featured contests in the categories of recitation of Iqbal’s poetry, national songs and painting, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across the country.
The Chief Guest of the concluding session was Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, while noted Iqbal scholar Prof. Dr. Brig (R) Waheed uz Zaman Tariq, presided the session.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said that “Allama Iqbal’s poetry is a beacon of guidance for the younger generation.” He added that such initiatives play a vital role in spreading Iqbal’s message among students and praised the efforts of Iqbal Academy in promoting cultural and intellectual heritage. He also announced cash prizes for the position holder students.
In his address, Brig. (R) Waheed uz Zaman Tariq highlighted the enduring significance of Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi (selfhood). He remarked that Allama Iqbal’s poetry is not only a literary treasure but also offers a complete code of life that continues to inspire people even in modern times.
Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui, Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan, thanked participants and reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to carrying forward Iqbal’s intellectual legacy. He stressed that the Academy would continue to organize such programs to nurture creativity among students and connect them with Iqbal’s vision.
At the end of the competitions, Aurangzeb Khichi along with Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui distributed shields and certificates among the students securing first, second and third positions in different categories.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Farzeen Asad, followed by a Naat presented by Fareeha Arif. The event drew a large audience, including teachers, parents, students, and people from various walks of life, reflecting the wide appeal of Iqbal’s thought and message.
