The teaching of the Qur'an that life is a process of progressive creation necessitates that each generation, guided but unhampered by the work of its predecessors, should be permitted to solve its own problems.

Iqbal�s Evening Observed by Iqbal Academy Scandinavia at Copenhagen on 12th Aug, 2009 :

Two organisations of Copenhagen observed an Evening with Ghulam Sabir on the 12th. August 2009. The names of these oganizations are Bazm-i Adab headed by Targhib Baland Naqvi, and Lahore Welfare Society headed by Pia Barkat Ali. Selected people from different corners of Copenhagen were invited including some from Sweden. Before the first half there were four speeches. Two of them, Dr. Iqbal Khan and Abid Ali Abid paid high tributes to the work of Iqbal Academy Scandinavia. Bashi Quraishy expressed his nice feelings about the book Kierkegaard and Iqbal, which to him is a  wonderful book. He said that he read a part of the book when it was being translated by a Danish Lady, Amina Tønsen, with whom he met several times during that period. The lady is secretary of Christian Muslim Study Centre, of which Bashy is also a member. After the speeches Mushaira was held, in which four poets including Targhib Baland Naqvi AND Pia Barkat Ali took part.

After the tea break Ghulam Sabir delivered a short speech in Urdu thanking the organisers and then recited verses from Kalam-i Iqbal together with the meanings and elaboration of the ideas of Allama Iqbal. The audience were spellbound as usual with Kalam-i Iqbal. With that the wonderful evening came to an end.
